Ability-based Education
What is different about the Young World Day School? Why do children of all abilities thrive here and when they leave here? The answer is ability-based education. At Young World we believe that students need to be taught based on their ability. Students need to meet each day with a certain amount of challenge and success in order to grow into life-long learners. We teach in small ability-based learning groups with more than one teacher per class to address all learning styles and abilities. The above average, average and below average student learn at the appropriate level without feeling lost, confused or bored. If your child is failing or feeling badly about his or her academic success or your child is bored and feels the work is too easy, then their class is not meeting their academic needs. Students have the right to learn something new each day. At Young World we strive to have each student reach his or her potiential while building self-esteem and confidence.
